Undiscovered Balkans

The Balkans don’t shout for attention the way Paris or Rome do, but that’s exactly why this trip was so unforgettable. This series follows our Undiscovered Balkans adventure through Albania, North Macedonia and Kosovo — places with vibrant capital cities, dramatic alpine scenery, peaceful lakes and tiny villages that feel like they’ve barely changed in a century. We walked old towns, sipped mountain tea with locals, soaked up lakeside views at Lake Ohrid and uncovered layers of Ottoman, Communist and ancient history with every step.

This page brings all those posts together in one place — a running list of walks, experiences, food stops and reflections from a Balkan route that genuinely felt a bit off the typical tourist map. As more posts in this series go live, this hub will be updated.
