Memory Lane: Palinka, Lipizzaners and the Hungarian Puszta
On our journey between Serbia and Budapest, we stopped at Tanyacsárda for a classic Hungarian Puszta experience. From my first taste of pálinka to watching magnificent Lipizzaner horses thunder across the arena and enjoying a bowl of traditional goulash, it became one of the most memorable stops of the trip.
Memory Lane: Mostar’s Old Bridge and Bazaar Streets
A bright visit to Mostar, with Stari Most, divers, cobbled streets, bazaar lanes, and a well-earned sirnica stop.
Memory Lane: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Dubrovnik was our next stop after Split in 2017. Over two days, we explored the UNESCO-listed Old Town, walked the Stradun, and found the famous staircase that made it feel instantly familiar. I loved the quieter little streets most, and I still remember the lemon sorbet being the best of the trip.
Memory Lane: Plitvice Lakes NP, Croatia
Gloomy skies, slippery boardwalks, and crowds you couldn’t linger behind, but Plitvice Lakes was still stunning. Shuttle at the start, ferry at the end, and views worth it.
Memory Lane: Lake Bled, Slovenia
A rainy one-day stop at Lake Bled, with moody skies, and postcard views
Memory Lane: Cuckoo Clocks, Castles and Cruising the Rhine (Sankt Goar to Boppard)
A Rhine day trip from Sankt Goar to Boppard, with the world’s largest free-hanging cuckoo clock, Loreley views, castles, and a night at Hotel Rheinlust.
Memory Lane: Köln (Cologne)
A brief afternoon stop in Köln before a night train turned into repeat visits and a standing lunch tradition near the Dom.
Memory Lane: Pisa
A 2016 visit to Pisa with a birthday twist. Leaning Tower poses, Piazza dei Miracoli highlights, and playful travel moments.
Memory Lane: Paris – Vintage Sidecar Ride
Throwback to 2016 when I explored Paris on a vintage Ural RETRO sidecar with Retro Tour Paris. From the cobbled Latin Quarter to champagne by the Eiffel Tower, a stylish, timeless experience.
