Memory Lane: Mozart Concert at the Brahms Hall, Vienna
In 2017, I went to a Mozart concert at the Brahms Hall inside Vienna’s Musikverein. From the start, it felt very old school. Coats were left with an attendant, you were given a number, and that was it. No filming during the performance, no phones out, no fuss.
Walking into the hall was honestly breathtaking. It’s beautiful without trying too hard. Warm, elegant, and calm. Understatement is probably the best way to describe it. You naturally lower your voice the moment you walk in.
The orchestra and the performance were just too good. I’m not a big fan of classical music, but this felt like something you had to do in Vienna. You sit, you listen, and you enjoy it properly.
I did manage to take a photo of the hall before it started, but it wasn’t great. Some places just don’t come across well on camera. They’re better experienced in the moment.
