Memory Lane: Interlaken
After coming down from Jungfraujoch, I spent a short but lively walk around Interlaken. The town sits between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, buzzing with life and framed by mountains. The air was crisp, but the pace felt more vibrant after the alpine chill.
I wandered along Höheweg, the central park strip, where colourful paragliders swooped down to land on the grass like it was all part of the show. The Jungfrau massif loomed large, a vivid reminder of the heights I’d just climbed.
Interlaken has been a hub for travellers since the 19th century, when it became a popular stop on the Grand Tour. Historic hotels and charming chalets still stand, giving the town a timeless alpine character.
Crossing wooden bridges over clear streams and passing flower-filled chalets, the town pulsed with energy. It wasn’t planned or structured, just letting Interlaken unfold around me — lively, fresh, and full of mountain spirit.
It was a brief visit, but Interlaken's buzz left its mark. I’d love to come back and soak it all in properly next time.
